The Participatiegids (Participation Guide) is a modern guide designed to strengthen a modern profession. At participatiegids.nl, you’ll find up-to-date information, inspiration, and tools. The guide offers an overview of current insights into participation support, with a particular focus on your role as a professional.
The Participatiegids for professionals stems from the action research project “De Groene Golf”:https://www.deomslag.nl/nl/participatiegids/ . One key conclusion from this project was that the actions of participation professionals can make a real difference. That’s why this guide exists — to support and inspire professionals.
Findings from the Action Research
The action research explored barriers within the social domain that hinder the participation of Amsterdam residents. It generated a wealth of knowledge, insights, and practical examples. In addition to the expected ‘system errors’ — such as unsuitable rules and policies — it became clear that professionals themselves are crucial in removing obstacles to participation. Time, knowledge, networks, and room for professional judgment are essential to provide tailored support.

Based on the research results, the website Participatiegids for professionals was developed. It offers tools, inspiration, up-to-date information, and interactive events — all aimed at strengthening the professional.
The Participatiegids for professionals is made for and by participation professionals. It is an initiative of Stichting De Omslag, with support from the City of Amsterdam.
