Innovation, procurement as flanking policy, clear competitive positions and measures that strengthen work projects and social organizations; these have been determined as the most important issues at hand. On Thursday, August 28 2014 we had an enjoyable introductory meeting with new councilman Work, Income and Participation Arjan Vliegenthart.

The discussion strengthened our resolve that the coalition agreement forms a solid base to strengthen involvement of vulnerable people in the community. Different objectives of the coalition were discussed such as participation, day services, internships, social organizations and the Participation Act.

De Omslag emphasized in the discussion that more needs to be done to improve the current state of day services provision. Innovation, procurement as flanking policy, clear competitive positions and measures that strengthen work projects and social organisations; these have been determined as important issues that need attention now in regards to drafting the budget.

We believe that the city together with De Omslag and her affiliates will bear fruitful interplay. This concerns the involvement of our members working towards innovation and necessary collaboration in terms of meaningful day services and enhancing the chances of social organisations. It also concerns enticing the business sector to play their part.
