Everyone involved in the field of day services and participation sees how intervention contributes to the quality of life of clients who partake. But what works best for which group of people? For this purpose, the municipality of Amsterdam and De Omslag have initiated an investigation which will be carried out by TNO (an independent Dutch research organization).

During the member assembly of De Omslag, but also at the European Inwork Conference that took place during the Participation Fair this past November 11th, Frank Kalshoven took us back in time. He showed us, drawing on statistics, that since the 50’s, more and more people with occupational disabilities end up on the couch and on welfare. And at the doctor’s office. On Friday, November 28, De Omslag took interested party members of D66 on a bike tour to visit various social firms and projects throughout the city. It was by their own accounts a resourceful and valuable day that provided much inspiration for legislation.
